Scope
Davbridge Constructions was engaged by Shadforth Civil, for Stockland, to build two concrete bridges as part of the Aura East West Bridge and Road Link Project at Bells Creek North, Caloundra. The project involved building a 127 m long, five span bridge and a 25 m single span bridge, both carrying two lanes of traffic and a 5 m shared path with a steel feature frame over the shared path. The foundations comprised 1200 mm diameter bored cast in situ piles. The works then covered reinforced concrete headstocks and PSC deck units with a reinforced concrete topping slab. The project presented challenges such as building two bridges and a steel feature frame within a new community as it was being developed. Located at Caloundra on the Sunshine Coast, this project demonstrated Davbridge Constructions' ability to deliver bridges for land development clients while maintaining environmental, community and safety standards.
