Safety
Bridge and civil work carries real risk, from heavy lifts and deep piles to live traffic and work over water. We plan every job so those risks are controlled before work starts, and every person on our sites has the authority to stop work if something is not right.

Critical risks
Every lift is planned, with lift studies for critical lifts, competent riggers and exclusion zones under the load.
Edge protection, harnesses and elevating work platforms for work on decks, piers, headstocks and formwork.
Rescue plans, life jackets and edge barriers for work over rivers, creeks and tidal waters.
People and plant are kept apart, with spotters where needed and trained, verified operators on every machine.
Approved traffic guidance schemes and qualified traffic controllers keep our crews and road users apart.
Shoring, batters, covers and exclusion zones around open bores, trenches and working piling rigs.
Services are located, potholed and marked before we dig, and we plan lifts and plant moves to stay clear of power lines.
Falsework, formwork, crane pads and temporary bridges are designed, checked and inspected before they take load.
How we work
Risk assessments, safe work method statements and work packs are prepared and reviewed with the crew before any high risk task starts.
Every shift starts with a prestart, so the whole crew knows the work, the hazards and the controls for the day.
Anyone on a Davbridge site, from apprentice to project manager, can stop work if something is unsafe.
Our own people run the cranes, piling rigs and erection, so the highest risk work stays with crews we have trained and trust.
We manage fatigue, drug and alcohol testing and fitness for work, including on long hours and remote regional projects.
Incidents and near misses are reported, investigated and shared across our crews so they are not repeated.
Accreditations
Our systems are checked by independent auditors, not just by us. On site that shows up in practical ways, like biodegradable hydraulic fluid in plant working near waterways. These are the accreditations we hold today.

Certified by Compass Assurance Services, a JAS-ANZ accredited certifier. Certificate 5545-3064-01, held since 2009.
An independent auditor checks every year that our quality, environmental and safety systems meet international standards and are used on site. It covers concrete bridges, bored and PSC piled foundations, roadworks and associated concrete structures.

Australian Government WHS Accreditation Scheme, run by the Office of the Federal Safety Commissioner. Accreditation number 384.
We are approved to work on Australian Government funded building work, and our safety system is audited on live projects to keep that approval.

Queensland Department of Transport and Main Roads, National Prequalification System. Bridgeworks B3, Roadworks R2. Recognised by Transport for NSW for Bridgeworks B3 and Roadworks R2.
Road agencies in Queensland and New South Wales have assessed our technical capability, management systems and financial capacity to deliver state road and bridge contracts.
